In January 2010 with «The Theatre on Tea Plant» the creative group TAKOE organises an experimental cinematographic company and a digital cinematheatre. page. ODESSA 2010 OR WHAT IS THIS FILM FOR
The snow will melt off the city streets and it’ll get warmer day after day. Winter will be gone, the elections will also be through, and the people will finally get free from the lack of choice and will start to make new plans. All the coming year will depend on the way they feel while making these plans. How should we make the atmosphere, in which the greater majority of people start dreaming again and not just caring about their own asses? How should we help Odessa get its former ways and atmosphere? I don’t know…but I do understand the way to create a new one, more human and delirious. The city inhabitants should know that the outer disorder is the accurate porttrait of their inner world. One should show a decent paragon and help them reach self identity with these streets. To start loving themselves and their personal space, take care of it and teach it to their children! TV raised envy in people. Envy made them forget about consious and aroused common hatred…people are unable to believe in their own power and became unable to dream! Thousands of talanted young people left this country, betrayed and lost their home but failed to find the promised miracle. How did it happen? It had been shown from the screens for decades, in thousands of Holliwood films!
That’s why we need a film! A Film to beome the first little brick in the foundation of a new selfidenttfication of our city inhabitants. A film which is worth participation in world cinema festivals, the one which is depicting proudly and vividly all the local identity and specific features. The one to be able to announce the renaissance of Odessa cinametography. We should show the city being pure and friendly so that all the foreigners wanted visiting us, the emmmigrants wanted coming back home, and every Oddesite had a sincere desire to support this image of the city !
I am aware that it’s almost impossible to shoot such a film at one go. But if we don’t start, this will never happen SYNOPSIS
Among street homeless people there is one who is unlike the rest company of the beggers, he is keeping aloof. Digging in litter bins, he manages to find interesting things, which he gathers in a wonderful collection. He drags this collection everywhere with him in his portable house, made of the table turned upside down. The man like a snail wanders about the streets, watching passers-by and window shops. Sometimes he is inspired by something, he takes a notebook out of his pocket and tries to note down all he has just seen. Everything might be wonderful, but the drawings don’t satisfy him and the table is getting harder and harder each day. He throws away his drafts into the litter bin and dreams about the wheels for his house and a new camera. She is in love with him and his works. She keeps her eye for him, gathers his masterpieces. Night comes, when they both are ready to make a step.
INTENTIONS
What I want to tell the audience with this film. Everything they lack for being happy is in identification of their inner nature as well admitting of what they are. The protagonists of the film unlike the ordinary inhabitants of the city are harmoniuos and don’t care about public opinion as for themselves. They are ingenuous as children, they do not care about material things. Notwithstanding the fact their needs are minimized to physiological demands satisfaction, they are more human and harmonious than the world that surrounds them. But they are people, too. That means they have the same diseases that our society has. They cannot quit their habits and they also need love. The breaking point in the film is the night when the both main characters make a decision to do something for their dream’s sake. He makes a step and refuses from all the things collected for years, having sold to people the things, which they had thrown away. She finds out the value of the works that had been found and has a sincere desire to share them with the surrounding world, she also wants to persuade “the artist” in the degree of his talent. She spends all collected money and devotes all her time to his exhibition organizing. So what? As Eugeniy Grishkovets once said – here come Happiness! The art finds an instant feedback in the hearts of passers-by just in the street, without tedious gallery pathos for narrow group of “connoisseurs”. And, certainly, at this very moment Love comes. What is happiness without love? The two worlds join together as in and yan, creating harmony. With no guarantees for the future. Although accidents also happen… There are also some moments in addition. All the happening events are very much connected with the city peculiarities of Odessa. Odessa historical center, the Primorskiy Boulevard, Lanzheron, Moldavanka with its multi quartered Market- local architecture, air and inhabitants are important and authentic part of the film atmosphere. That’s why all the surrounding of the story will be shot in a documental way. I want to formulate the actors’ images, to sew their costumes in a somewhat grotesque way but at the same time to avoid the artificial manner. To make it in such a way the actors could go out in the street in the costumes and make-up and play scenes. At the same time to shoot what is happening and manage capture a sincere and natural reaction of the passers-by. Then the aim is to include some successful moments in the film in the background. And there is one important detail – the sound. I want such a music that would fully complete the film. It is to be very melodic, tender and performed perfectly, but with the help of the instruments that are slightly out of tune and somewhat odd. The one thing that makes me glad is that there will be no problems with the pictures…

and DSLR In the end of 2008 on a world market new digital cameras appeared. These cameras are able to shoot a Full HD video with a full variety of lens. As in the big cinema they use the same standard and the range of lens is less diverse, DSLR was taken into account by all the proffessionals. Moreover, it decreased the expenses and the time consuming processes. During 2009 hundreds of musical videos, numerous serials and short cinemas, as well as big cinemas were shot with these cameras. Lots of cinematographic equipment production companies started to produce equipment with DSLR cameras at reaonable price. It's this equipment we decided to use in our cinema production.
